This site

I stumbled upon the idea of digital gardening whilst going down a rabbit hole of personal websites and blogs. I loved the idea of a piece of writing being nurtured over time as opposed to a traditional blog where you just chuck things out and forget about them. Something about the freedom of publishing unfinished or unpolished work is attractive. Perhaps it's less intimidating than having a polished personal website.

If you want to learn more about digital gardens, here is an excellent place to start:
A Brief History & Ethos of the Digital Garden

This site is my garden—a place where I attempt to jot down what I'm learning, reflect on ideas, and experiment with sharing my thoughts. I'm still figuring out what this place will become. The hope is to become a better thinker through writing. And it gives me an excuse to tinker with web tech!

Me

I never know what to write about myself. I suppose I'm a software engineer who likes messing around with internet things. My journey into the digital world started as a kid growing up in Madras, India, tinkering with websites on Geocities, a bit of Photoshop, and later blogging and designing custom Blogger themes, all while trying not to lose everything installing random new Linux distros. What began as a fun way to spend time with friends online eventually turned into a college degree and career in software development.

I spent a few years working as a software engineer in India before moving to the U.S. in 2012, where I've lived in Tennessee, Michigan, and now California, writing software for various platforms all along the way. My professional focus has been web and mobile application development and cloud thingamajigs across several tech stacks.

I suppose I'm generally following my curiosity wherever it may lead—all in an attempt to discover what genuinely sparks joy for me.
